Five St. Luke’s Students Featured in Wilton Photo Exhibit

From Jeorge Yankura, Instructor of Photography, Digital Imaging, and A.P. 2D Design:

Five St. Luke’s Art students are featured in the Wilton Arts Council’s Focus ‘18 Photo Exhibit at the Wilton Library. Emma Duryea '18, Bridget Dalton '18, Isabelle Stone '18, Brody Menzies '20 and Anna Raleigh '20 have their work displayed with many other photographers from throughout the New York and Connecticut area.

It is an intimidating task for students to enter a show where they will see their work alongside that of professional photographers and other students, but also incredibly satisfying to see their work be able to hold its own amongst the crowd and speak volumes about each’s artistic vision. The amount of time and labor that goes into each photograph on display is impressive; students select one image out of potentially hundreds of images shot, the image is carefully worked upon in the darkroom or on the computer, it is printed, matted, framed and wired, finally making its way onto the walls of a gallery for all to experience. The St. Luke’s Art Department is incredibly proud of these students for their hard work, courageous participation in the exhibition, and their inspirational artwork.

The Wilton Arts Council Focus ‘18 Photo Exhibit will be on display at the Wilton Library (137 Old Ridgefield Road) March 3-29, with a reception (open to the public) on Friday, March 9 from 6:00-7:30pm.
