Rich is the Co-CEO of Origin Materials (NASDAQ: ORGN), the world's leading carbon-negative materials company. Prior to joining Origin, Rich was the CEO of Shazam, one of the world's most popular music mobile applications. He joined in 2013 and under his leadership, the company more than doubled its user base, surpassed one billion downloads, and become one of the highest-rated apps in the world.  Shazam was acquired by Apple in October 2018.
 
Prior to joining Shazam, Rich spent 13 years at Yahoo! He joined as part of the acquisition of a start-up he co-founded Log-Me-on.com which invented the toolbar. At Yahoo!, Rich had a variety of roles of increasing responsibility starting in Corporate Development, SVP Small and Medium Business, EVP and Managing Director of the Europe, Middle East and Africa Region and EVP of the Americas Region reporting into the CEO and serving on the Executive Management Team.
 
Rich serves as an Industry Advisor to the global investment firm, KKR. He also serves on the Board of the Entrepreneurial Department at the Wharton School. He is an active member of the Young President’s Organization (YPO) and has been named 3 times to Billboard’s list of the most powerful people in the music industry and was featured on Fortune Magazine’s 40 Under 40, Ones to Watch list and a finalist for E&Y’s Entrepreneur of the Year award. In addition, Rich serves on the Executive Board of the Boy Scouts of America, Yankee Council.
 
Rich lives in New Canaan with his wife Michelle and children Alexandra '20, Michael '22, Matthew '25 and Luke '27.
