The Legend of Sleepy Hollow

L.Mahler/VGP
From MS Theatre Director Leo Mahler:

The Middle School Drama performances of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow last weekend were a great success. The watercolors backdrops—painted by members of the SLS Tech Crew—were projected using the Black Box Theater's new AV system. The backdrops set the scene for a story that was both creepy and amusing, and period costumes lent an air of authenticity to the young actors' performance.

Audience members of all ages laughed along with the goofy antics of Ichabod and the cheekily transparent ruse of the Headless Horseman, and bopped to the beat of authentic 19th century dance tunes. Backstage, actors and techies worked together to tackle the challenges of the play. They juggled quick costume changes, plentiful props, and tongue-twisting lines and became a great team in the process.  Many of the students involved caught the drama bug and plan to perform in future MS productions.
