From Global Studies Director Beth Yavenditti:

A first-time travel opportunity to Vietnam awaits St. Luke’s Upper School students.

Vietnam is a nation steeped in history and in the midst of rapid economic development. According to the World Bank “between 2002 and 2018 more than 45 million people were lifted out of poverty.” What does it mean to live in a nation that is in a stage of rapid development? How does a culturally-rich nation balance its history and traditions with the pace of change in the 21st century?

St. Luke’s US students will have a chance to explore these very topics when they travel to Vietnam with history teachers Abby Abbott and Hunter Martin this Spring Break (March 14-25). To learn more and enroll, please visit the St. Luke’s Travel Programs page that can be found on the Resource Board.

For questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to trip leaders Abby Abbott (abbotta@stlukesct.org) and Hunter Martin (martinh@stlukesct.org), or Director of Global Education Beth Yavenditti (yavendittib@stlukesct.org).
