Visualizing Music

SLS
Collaborators: designLab, Ms. Katie Kaplan, Mr. Peter Valera
Grade Level: 8th Grade
Class: Find Your Voice

Students used different mediums to represent themselves using music, design, and technology. Each student created a plaque with a a QR code that scanned to play a recording of a song or poem in their voice. The students designed the plaque to contain a unique logo, and the sound wave of their soundtrack. This collaboration allowed students to learn how 3D printers and laser cutters work, as well as how to design their own logo and plaque to communicate their personalities. All students also had the opportunity to choose, practice, and a record a musical (or non-musical) piece in their own voice.
