S.A.
The American Library Association (ALA) recently appointed St. Luke’s Middle School Librarian Jean Myles to its Committee on Education. The ALA, the oldest, largest, and most well-known library association in the world, works to enhance learning and ensure access to information for everyone.

As a member of the Committee on Education, Jean will use her expertise in the field of library sciences to:
  • Develop and recommend policies for the ALA as they pertain to education and information studies.
  • Gather information from ALA members about the condition, relevance, and education needed to improve library and information services.
  • Communicate and build relationships with national and international organizations in the education and information services areas.
  • Identify education initiatives to help promote ALA members, organizations, and accomplishments.
  • Discover areas where education and information services research are needed.
Jean is one of nine members appointed to the committee and will serve a two-year term.

Congratulations, Jean, on this incredible honor!
