St. Luke's ski team wrapped up their 2013 season on a high note with a strong showing at the year's final race in Southington.
Teams from Wilton, Berlin, Famington, Fairfield Prep, Branford, Darien, Staples, Hand, Lauralton Hall, and New Canaan High School were all present on at Mt. Southington on Thursday. Six St. Luke's skiers - Britt Viergever '13, Lauren Fenningdorf '13, Henry Conroy '13, Craig Ballard '13, Will Bralower '16, and Jack Viergever '17- raced for the Storm, with Britt Viergever, Ballard, Fenningdorf, Conroy, and Andrew Wagle, who was unable to race, celebrating their senior day.
Britt Viergever, Henry Conroy, and Craig Ballard each broke the 24 second mark on their second runs, with times of 23.98, 23.68, and 23.95 respectively. Lauren Fenningdorf put together two strong runs, including a fast time of 24.78 on her second. Will Bralower had a strong first run of 26.62, while Jack Viergever's personal best was his 28.01 on his second run.
Before the race, coach Chris Phelps gave a great senior day presentation for the five graduating Storm skiers.
