CFL Director Gives Leadership Lesson to Fifth Graders

VGP
From Fifth Grade Teacher Jane Olsen:

Center for Leadership Director Kate Parker-Burgard joined my fifth-grade social studies classes last week to lead the students in a lesson on how to be a positive force and a leader in their communities. The students first identified things they are grateful for and then drew and shared illustrations of their own community webs, brainstorming ways they could help move communities toward their shared goals.

This virtual visit was in conjunction with our unit that includes students reading biographies of leaders who encountered adversity and developed resilience, including Greta Thunberg, Eleanor Roosevelt, Jim Thorpe, Malala Yousafzai, Isaac Newton, Jane Goodall, and Abraham Lincoln.
