For more than a decade, SLS faculty and staff members have been invited to apply for the annual Faculty Enrichment Award, established by the generosity of SLS alumni parents Liz and Steven Goldstone. More commonly known as the “Dream Grant,” this monetary award provides faculty and staff the ability to pursue a personal project or journey that enriches their lives.
SLS is excited to announce the 2025 Dream Grant recipients:
Jean Myles, Library Director and Equity and Inclusion Coordinator
Ross James, Upper School English Teacher
Blake Bueckman, Associate Director of Admission
John Tita, Facilities Technician / Special Events
Jean plans to purchase a used boat and trailer for her husband and their children to enjoy the summer on the Long Island Sound. With their sons heading off to college in a few years, Jean and her husband value summers together as a family to reconnect, explore, and appreciate the serenity of the water.
Ross plans to take his children on a trip to France—something he has dreamed of doing for years. Ross has family in the town of Megeve in the French Alps, and he studied in Paris during his junior year of college. Ross and his children will first visit family in Megeve, then head to Paris, and end their trip with an add-on visit to London.
Blake and her family plan to welcome a new puppy to their home. After losing their beloved dog, Annie, Blake’s son Jacob ‘31 received a stuffed Hefty from Dr. Carter—which brought him immense joy and comfort during a difficult time. While Annie will never be forgotten, this new experience will allow Blake and her family to create new memories together and teach the value of patience, responsibility, and unconditional affection.
John has always wanted to explore Europe and will take a river cruise to explore its rich ancient history. Stops include Germany, Holland, and France to explore ancient medieval architecture as well as the cultural and historical significance of the Rhine River as a border between Slavic and Germanic tribes.
