Andersen Receives Betty Ambler Award
Recent St. Luke’s graduate Quentin Andersen '17 received the Betty Ambler Award for service work at Wilton’s Ambler Farm. Andersen has volunteered at Ambler since 5th grade and logged nearly 800 service hours during his Upper School years. His work is featured in the book We Can Make a Difference. In the book Andersen, who was thirteen at the time, describes a particularly meaningful project: "One of the buddies who had leg braces couldn't work easily in the gardens. So we figured out how to make raised beds using long, heavy oak boards. I even used a forklift to move them...I feel extremely proud of what I've done for the community. It makes me feel good about myself that I made it possible for kids with special needs to work in a similar way to those without special needs."
Andersen will attend the College of William & Mary this fall.
