Congratulations to the St. Luke’s Girls Varsity Basketball team who received the Harold Swaffield Sportsmanship award for the 2017-18 season.

GVBB enjoyed another remarkable season finishing 25-3 overall and completing an FAA double as league and tournament champions.

The Harold Swaffield award is presented annually to the program that demonstrates the most consistent level of good sportsmanship on the court throughout the basketball season This includes players, coaches, and fans and is voted for by the Fairfield County Board of Approved Basketball Officials.

Two of the Storm’s captains Maya Klein ‘18 and Bridget Dalton ‘18 received the award at the annual banquet on Tuesday, March 27 along with head coach Matt Ward. Klein was thrilled to represent St. Luke’s Girls Basketball at the event: “I’m so proud of the team to be able to add this award to our other accomplishments. We really focused on our sportsmanship and maintaining positive attitudes this year so it feels great for that to be recognized. The banquet was an amazing experience and I’m glad I was able to be a part of it.”
