Sports Med Class Visits Quinnipiac U

Dan Clarke
The St. Luke’s Sports Medicine class took a field trip to Quinnipiac University on April 26 and were given a tour of the TD Bank Sports Center as well as two state-of-the-art athletic training rooms.

The class is currently working on a project that includes designing a budget and layout for an athletic training room. Their visit to the home of the Bobcats informed their course preparation. The group was also granted access to the locker rooms and lounges of QU’s Men’s Hockey and Women’s Basketball teams - the university's flagship athletic programs.

Miss Anna’s class was also given an informative lesson about cupping therapy (a form of alternative medicine in which a local suction is created on the skin) from the athletic training staff who used Noah Bailey ‘19 as their subject.

Miss Anna, who graduated from Quinnipiac University with a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training and Sports Medicine said, “It was really great to be able to bring my sports medicine class to my alma mater. I think it was extremely beneficial for them to see the facilities and to be able to ask so many great questions of the athletic training staff there.”
