14 St. Luke's Grads To Play Collegiate Sports

Daniel Clarke
Congratulations to the 14 members of the Class of 2019 who will continue to compete in the sports they love at the collegiate level.

This number represents approximately 19% of the graduating class, well above the national average (7%) for high school athletes who go on to play a varsity sport in college.

The senior athletes recruited to play in college will compete across seven different sports for various Division 1 and Division 3 schools. The collegiate athletes are:

Juan Rosario (Football, University of Connecticut), Scott Vollmer (Basketball Lehigh University), Michael Hage (Football, University of Rochester), Chandler Greene (Football, Endicott College), Sydney Cummings (Basketball, Haverford College), Tamia Fulton (Basketball, Brandeis University), Riley Page (Softball, Clarkson University), Emma Cropper (Field Hockey, Trinity College), Justine McGuire (Rowing, Dartmouth College), Isabel Mezei (Rowing, University of Michigan), Jack Maguire (Golf, Colgate University), Mark Gertsen (Golf, Colgate University), Seth Kim (Football, The University of Chicago), and Olivia Schwartz (Lacrosse, Colby College).

The athletes were celebrated at the St. Luke's Athletic Awards Night on Tuesday, May 28.

At the Athletic Awards Night, Athletic Director Mike West said: “This group of graduating seniors demonstrated leadership within and beyond our community that set them up to play at the next level. In committing themselves to continue to balance the rigors of team participation alongside their academic coursework, these 14 students will have quite a journey ahead of them.”

We wish these student-athletes all the best as they embark on another chapter of their athletic careers.
