Varsity Volleyball Sweeps Hamden Hall

Daniel Clarke
The St. Luke’s Volleyball team put in a dominant performance on Thursday, October 10, to sweep Hamden Hall 3-0 inside Carey Gymnasium.

The Storm bounced back from two straight losses to move to 4-4 overall on the season, with a comfortable victory over the Hornets.

Some great decision making by setter Catalina Hendricks '22 gave St. Luke’s an early advantage in the first set, and the team never gave up the lead.

Kaleigh Bowler ‘20, Caroline Ross '21 and Harper Boege '21 continued to apply the pressure to the visitors, wrapping up the second set 25-18.

The Storm completed the whitewash with another superb display in the third set as the Storm’s aggressive play proved too much for the Hornets defense.

Coach Garrett Minyard was thrilled with his team’s efforts: “This was a great team win. Every player on the roster made significant contributions. We proved that consistent serving, steady reception, and the right mentality on defense is what it takes to win these important conference matches.”

The St. Luke’s Volleyball team is back on the court on Saturday, October 12, for its Homecoming matchup against Greens Farms Academy at 3pm.
