MS Artwork of the Week: Preston Lambeth '26, Connor Hahn '26, Brady Smith '26, Oliver Barkley '26,

Haley Wulfman
Congratulations to Preston Lambeth '26, Connor Hahn '26, Brady Smith '26, and Oliver Barkley '26 for winning Artwork of the Week!

Preston did this wonderful oil pastel painting of a prismatic design with the words "Where ideas come from" scratched into a heart in the middle.  It is a beautiful image that makes me wonder about our ideas of mind and heart. Are they separate or are they really the same thing deep inside of us?  It is a true thought provoking artwork!

For days, Connor, Brady, and Oliver worked collaboratively to create this horizontal view of a city. If you'd been there to watch them, you'd have seen three artists all creating simultaneously on the same piece of large paper - first mapping out their designs in pencil, then moving to Sharpie marker. Look at the interesting, unique shapes of their buildings! Upon receiving a question about their choice to work in black and white during a class-wide critique, Brady, Connor and Oliver chatted together about whether they'd like to bring this element into their work. As you can see, the piece took on a new life in color! A brilliant example of collaboration, with strong forms, balance, detail, and overlapping. Bravo!
