St. Luke’s Visual Arts Week Gets Creative

V. Parker
St. Luke’s Art Department did what it does best – it got creative during Visual Arts Week to ensure that the talents of St. Luke’s senior artists as well as other members of our community were celebrated during St. Luke’s at Home. Upper School Art Chair Sean Lynch shared the following:

During this year’s Visual Arts week, we wanted to properly recognize the artistic achievements of our senior artists. In lieu of a traditional exhibition, we’re hosting a Virtual Senior Art Exhibition, where each senior artist’s works are featured on our website, in photo galleries and on social media, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

We also wanted to bring the entire St. Luke's community together during our time apart. In partnership with the communications team, we launched #SLS_creates to invite anyone connected with St. Luke's to share a photo of anything creative they have done at home during this period of social distancing. The response exceeded my expectations and reinforced the belief there’s an artist in so many of us. You can view all the contributions we received in the #SLS_creates photo gallery.

The Center for Leadership helped support Visual Arts Week by featuring St. Luke’s alumnus and renowned ornamental architect Kent Bloomer ‘53 as its Lunch & Lead speaker this past Thursday.
