Meet Our St. Luke’s Sodexo Team!

S.A.
Ever wonder who is responsible for making the Hilltop so beautiful or directs the traffic at drop-off and pick up? Meet the incredible and hardworking team from Sodexo who, in conjunction with Rich Kaechele and John Tita from our St. Luke’s facilities team, make it all possible.

Darrell Maier is St. Luke’s Director of Facilities. He joined us in June of 2010 as a grounds manager, before taking on his current role three and a half years ago. Prior to his time at St. Luke’s, Darrell spent 35 years in golf course management and construction.

Jose Alvarado has been on the night EV staff since the summer of 2017. Jose is a hard worker and extremely dependable. He is always  eager to learn and has been very helpful on summer projects. Jose is quiet, but  has a wonderful sense of humor.

Jerald Botley, our newest night EV staff member, joined the staff  in January 2020. Jerald is quick to help everyone on the Hilltop,  including students, parents and staff.. Friendly and very outgoing, Jerald has become a valued member of our team. Prior to joining us, he served in the United States Marine Corp.

Oscar Campos began with Sodexo on our EV night staff in 2015. During the past three years, Oscar has transitioned into the role of day porter. Most people know Oscar from his daily cafeteria duties and traffic management. Oscar is a quiet guy, but a terrific worker. Throughout the campus closure, Oscar was hard at work preparing for the students’ return as our lead painter.

Patricia Dalton is a member of our EV night staff and comes to us with a background in construction management. Patricia jumps in wherever needed on the Hilltop and is capable of tackling any assignment. Patricia often shows a take-charge attitude to get a task completed.

Sandra Gonzalez was the first employee hired to work at St. Luke’s by Sodexo. Sandra started with Sodexo on Sept. 13, 2006. A dedicated worker, she set a high standard for all Sodexo employees. (She hasn’t taken a sick day in over 11 years!) Sandra is now our lead for the night EV staff when a manager is out.

Michael “Mike” Laskowski has been a member of the Sodexo grounds crew since 2015. Mike is our “go-to guy” for almost everything. He is in charge of our bus fleet maintenance and anything grounds and sports related. Mike’s strength comes in handy, and he is often tasked with moving furniture and jobs that require heavy lifting. Mike even volunteered to chaperone last year’s Senior Midnight Run to help the homeless.

Jorge Marquez joined Sodexo in 2017 as a member of our grounds crew. Jorge switched over to our daytime facilities team when St. Luke’s employee Carlos Moreno retired. Jorge does every job imaginable and always with a smile. There isn’t a job Jorge can’t or isn’t willing to do. He is happy to work on anything asked of him. Jorge has become quite the painter over the past year, and we are thankful for his help freshening up St. Luke’s.

Frank Marsico has been our night Environmental Service Manager since March of this year. Frank comes to St. Luke’s with a lifetime of experience in EV services that includes working in convention centers and the Las Vegas hotel industry. Most recently he served as the EV Manager at Westchester Medical Center.

Evelyn Mayen has been on Sodexo’s night EV staff since 2018. Evelyn has worked hard to implement Sodexo’s “Pure Care” pilot cleaning program here at St. Luke’s. Over the past two years, Evelyn has helped with all black-light testing and bacterial swabbing. Because of Evelyn’s hard work, our staff was well prepared for Covid-19 cleaning protocols.

Aron Mendez has been a member of the Sodexo grounds crew since 2008. Aron has years of experience in property management and has worked as the Grounds Manager at St. Luke’s for the past four years.

Manuel Mendez started with Sodexo on the EV night staff in 2018 and has since moved to the grounds crew. Thanks to his keen eye for detail and strong work ethic, Manuel has been a welcome addition to the crew.

Ramiro Rossil, a long-time employee with Sodexo, started at St. Luke’s in 2006. Ramiro is our only part-time EV night staff member. But don’t let the part-time title fool you. Ramiro gives St. Luke’s his all every day. He knows every inch of St. Luke’s and helps out wherever needed.

Wendy Tita started with Sodexo last November as our Administrative Professional. Wendy hit the ground running on her first day and hasn’t stopped since. She keeps everything moving and is always on task. (Something Darrell is very appreciative of.)
