Director of Global Education Named Action Research Fellow

Beth Yavenditti, St. Luke’s Leadership Studies Department Chair and Director of Global Education, was recently accepted into the Global Education Benchmark Group’s Action Research Fellows Program.

With support from Head of Middle School Amber Berry and Head of Upper School Liz Perry, Yavenditti applied and was selected to join the Assessing Student Global Competence Development cohort. From October through June, this worldwide cohort of educators meets virtually every month to explore the relevant research and establish best practices for student competency on a global scale. 

Each fellow will have the opportunity to:
  • Use action research to explore a complex challenge
  • Design and implement a new or pilot program in their topic area
  • Present and/or publish insights on the topic
  • Receive individual feedback and support from the facilitator, Clare Sisisky, GEBG’s Executive Director, and their cohort of peers
“I am eager to delve into the latest research related to developing and assessing global competency in our students so I can use it to inform the curricular work and global programming at St. Luke's,” shared Yavenditti. “I have been curious about this topic. The opportunity to deepen my understanding of student competence while working with a cohort of educators from schools around the globe is exciting.”
