St. Luke’s Fifth Graders Host Native American Exhibition

St. Luke’s fifth graders, who have been studying Native American culture, recently hosted an exhibition in the Forese Family Fireplace Commons to display what they learned. The project featured a multidisciplinary approach, with students studying Native American tribes in history class and completing other elements of their projects in English and art classes.
St. Luke’s fifth graders, who have been studying Native American culture, recently hosted an exhibition in the Forese Family Fireplace Commons to display what they learned. The project featured a multidisciplinary approach, with students studying Native American tribes in history class and completing other elements of their projects in English and art classes.
Students proudly displayed artifacts that they had created in art class. To accompany their projects, students wrote essays in history class about what they had learned and created fictional stories (inspired by Native American myths and legends) in English class.
During the exhibition, students, faculty, staff, and guests perused the displays and heard directly from the students, who shared what they had learned about the culture and history of Native American tribes.
