Model UN Members Awarded Best Outstanding Delegates at King School Tournament

Abby Abbott, Assistant Head of Upper School & Model UN Advisor
On Oct. 29, St. Luke’s Model UN participated in a tournament at King School.

Thirteen of our exceptional MUN team members engaged in a full day of diplomacy and debate. The tournament featured three simultaneous committees, each offering a unique and challenging experience. In the General Assembly, the topic of "War in Ukraine" ignited passionate discussions. At the same time, the Economic and Social Council tackled the critical issue of "Enhancing cybersecurity measures: safeguarding critical infrastructure and countering cyber threats." Additionally, some of our team flexed their creative muscles by jumping into a fictional Crisis Committee based on the novel “The Hunger Games,” adding an imaginative twist to the proceedings.

I’m incredibly proud of our team's performance, with several members receiving awards and honors, including Denis Gannon '26, Iris Weizer '26, May Freylinhausen '25, Jack Barker '25, and Wyatt Patrick '26, who were recognized as Best and Outstanding Delegates.

Congratulations to our talented MUN team on their well-deserved success!
