Eighth Graders Get a Sneak Peek of High School
On Friday, Dec. 8, St. Luke’s eighth grade students experienced what high school would be like during “Upper School Visit Day.”
Throughout the day, students rotated among special 20-minute classes in English, history, math, science, and world languages led by Upper School teachers. Each class was designed to showcase the creativity and experience that students can expect in St. Luke’s Upper School.
In between classes, students enjoyed lunch with Upper School Dean of Students Noel Thomas and an afternoon cookie break with Assistant Head of Upper School Abby Abbott.
Following lunch, students attended sessions to learn more about Upper School athletics, leadership studies, service opportunities, performing and visual arts, and computer science & engineering.
Participating in “Upper School Visit Day” is an excellent opportunity for eighth graders to experience what the next four years will look and feel like at St. Luke’s. Going above and beyond to make our students feel comfortable at school — even though they have been here for Middle School — prepares them to thrive and make the most of their time at St. Luke’s. We hope students went home at the end of the school day inspired and excited about the next step in their St. Luke’s career.
