Winter Season Wrap-up

St. Luke’s athletics enjoyed another productive winter season, which featured many noteworthy highlights and achievements across all seven sports.
St. Luke’s Ski Team had a remarkable season on the slopes. The Storm took second place at the NEPSAC championship race at Berkshire East Mountain Resort. Felix DeSantis ’26 finished 6th and 10th overall in the individual standings, but a real team effort from everyone involved capped off a wonderful season for the Storm.
Girls Hockey enjoyed its inaugural season as St. Luke’s joined forces with King School. The Sting, the name of the girls hockey collaboration, practiced hard all winter at SoNo Ice House and Stamford Twin Rinks in preparation for its first-ever contest against Greenwich Academy. The Sting produced a tremendous display, beating the Gators 6-2.
Girls Varsity Basketball enjoyed another exciting season finishing the season 13-8 overall. The Storm advanced to the Fairchester Athletic Association final but was bested by Sacred Heart in a hard-fought contest. The team also made the New England Tournament but could not defend the title it won in 2023, falling to Greens Farms Academy in the quarterfinals.
Girls Squash was proud to have a varsity and JV team this winter and worked hard throughout the season on the courts. The team enjoyed impressive wins against Greenwich Country Day School, Westover School, and New Canaan High School. The Storm also placed 4th in their division at The U.S. Squash National Championships, knocking out the #1 seed.
Boys Varsity Hockey battled to an overall 4-6 FAA record which wasn’t quite enough to qualify for the four-team tournament. The Storm recorded two wins against Kingswood Oxford and one against Greenwich Country Day School. The puck squad also had a stellar victory against eventual champions Rye Country Day School, beating the Wildcats 4-2 in the regular season.
Boys Varsity Basketball had a tough season, losing some key players to injury, but they continued to play with pride to the very last game. The Storm qualified for the postseason tournament but lost its quarter-final contest to Greenwich Country Day School. A highlight for the team was recording its 22nd and 23rd straight victories over local rivals Greens Farms Academy.
Boys Squash finished a stellar season with a tremendous third-place finish at The U.S. Squash National Championships in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The Storm beat Trinity Pawling 5-2 in its opening match before recording a 6-1 win over Suffield Academy in the quarterfinals. St. Luke’s lost its semifinal match before beating Berkshire School 4-3 in the third/fourth play-off contest.
