At SLS, we believe that an exceptional education will shape not only what you know, but who you become.

You’ll discover a love of learning, grow in compassion and character, and build the confidence to lead and the courage to serve. These values guide all we do—in classrooms, on stage, in labs, on the field, and in how we treat one another.

At SLS, you won’t only prepare for what’s next. You’ll discover who you are and how you can make a meaningful difference. Along the way, your teachers, advisors, and coaches will be your guides—challenging you, supporting you, and encouraging you to grow in ways that matter.

Come with questions. Leave with a sense of what’s possible. I hope you’ll spend time exploring our website—and even better, visit our Hilltop campus and experience this community for yourself.

We can’t wait to meet you.

Warmly,

Mary Carter
Head of School

Meet Hefty & Pudge!

Your Hilltop tour is not complete until you’ve crossed paths with Hefty and Pudge—our resident charmers, nap enthusiasts, and professional treat sniffers. Whether they’re greeting students at the front entrance, sprawling across the Commons like they own it (they kind of do), or stealing hearts on the sidelines, these two know how to make an impression.

They remind us to slow down, savor the moment, and never underestimate the power of a good belly rub.

Stop by campus and don’t be surprised if they greet you first. Hefty and Pudge love visitors—and they’re always recruiting new fans.

About Mary Carter

Students should feel deeply respected at school. I want each child to know, you are not just important to us and your family—the world also needs you to contribute and serve.

Dr. Carter's Installation Celebration

Mary has had an undeniably fantastic impact on SLS. She has identified this magical intersection where, in her own words, 'school can be challenging and joyful.
