Affordability
529 Education Savings Plans
529 Education Savings Plans are a tax-advantaged savings account specifically used for education expenses. While these funds are usually dispersed for college tuition and expenses, most states (including Connecticut) allow families to pay tuition at K-12 private schools up to $10,000 annually. For more information, please contact your tax advisor or an investment professional.
K-12 Education Loans
Some families who don’t qualify for Tuition Assistance choose to explore education loans to help cover tuition costs. While St. Luke’s does not endorse any specific provider, this article offers a helpful overview of available options.
Need-Based Tuition Assistance
Affordability is part of the conversation—and we’re here to help. Our Tuition Assistance Program offers need-based grants ranging from partial to full tuition, helping ensure students from many different financial backgrounds can thrive at SLS. While we strive to meet demonstrated need, assistance does not cover lifestyle choices.
We use the Clarity Application to evaluate financial need based on income, assets, expenses, and debts. The application is mobile-friendly, takes about 30 minutes to complete, and includes a $60 submission fee.
How to Apply
- Start your financial aid application and/or visit the Clarity Family Application Guide for step-by-step instructions.
- Complete and submit your application.
- Upload required tax documents via your Clarity dashboard.
Deadline
- Current families: December 1
- New families: December 15
If you need support during the application process, in-app support is available through the “Help” button located at the bottom left of the screen. Additionally, you can contact Clarity via email at [email protected] or phone at 206-210-3752, available in both English and Spanish. The application itself is also fully translated into Spanish.
FAQs
All tuition assistance at SLS is awarded based on demonstrated need. SLS does not award merit-based scholarships. Tuition assistance is determined through analysis of a family's financial resources, including income and assets reported in their Financial Aid application and Federal Tax Forms.
Families are asked to complete a Clarity Application and submit supporting Tax Information. A detailed guide to this process can be found below:
The deadline for submission of the application is December 15. Tuition assistance applications completed after the deadline will be reviewed as funds permit.
If all the necessary materials have been received, notification of your financial aid award will accompany your admission decision, which is published in mid-February.
